The winning Indian team lost the first game 19-21, pulled off an incredible comeback to win the second game 21-18, and then made another heroic effort to rebound from a 1-8 deficit before losing the championship match 19-21 in a match that lasted one hour and eleven minutes.

The Indian duo, who won gold at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, forced their way back into the competition by winning the second game and advancing to the final decider.
