<p>25 of India’s 100 medals are gold, and the country’s archers have had a breakthrough Games.</p>
<p>The Indian team entered the Games with high expectations, motivated by the motto “Iss Baar 100 Paar,” although even themselves were unable to predict the success they would go on to enjoy.</p>
<p>According to chef de mission Bhupender Singh Bajwa, “We came here with the target of 100 medals but didn’t imagine our dream would come true.”</p>
<p>The nation previously won 70 medals at an Asian Games in Indonesia in 2018.</p>
<p>With five gold medals won in the archery competition in Hangzhou, India has been particularly successful.</p>
<p>On Saturday, Jyothi Surekha Vennam won the women’s individual compound gold, while in the men’s competition, Ojas Deotale defeated teammate Abhishek Verma.</p>
<p>Men’s, women’s, and mixed team compound archery gold medals were also won by them.</p>
<p>With three gold medals in archery, the 21-year-old Deotale stood out as the top performance.</p>

<p>In a cloudy Hangzhou, India had a perfect morning as they defeated Taiwan 26-25 to win back the women’s kabaddi championship they had previously lost to Iran.</p>
<p>The men’s kabaddi final between India and Iran will take place later on Saturday, as their men’s cricket team competes against Afghanistan for the gold.</p>
<p>When the Games are complete on Sunday, India will still come in much behind China in the overall medals standings.</p>
<p>With these victories, India has now won 100 medals in the Asian Games, including 25 gold, 35 silver, and 40 bronze. India is presently ranked fourth in the Asian Games medal count.</p>
<p>With 358 medals overall, 188 of them gold, the hosts are well ahead of the competition.</p>
