Who is Twitter's new CEO, Linda Yaccarino?

After a “painful” acquisition, Elon Musk finally spoke out about who would succeed him as CEO of Twitter. All eyes are now on Linda Yaccarino, the chairperson of global partnerships and advertising at NBC Universal.

Yaccarino “could serve to calm advertiser fears while balancing Musk's demand for sweeping changes to Twitter's policies on content moderation,” according to The Washington Post, even though Musk has not yet revealed the identity of the incoming female CEO who will take over in six weeks.

As CTO and executive chair, Musk will now be responsible for “overseeing product, software, and system operations”.

During an on-stage interview, Musk joined Yaccarino at a marketing convention in Miami Beach, Florida.

In her position, Yaccarino is in charge of around 2,000 employees, which is comparable to the reduced Twitter workforce as a result of Musk's widespread firings after his $44 billion buyout late last year.

Her group is in charge of the network's streaming service Peacock's monetization plan.

According to her biography, Yaccarino's team has also made more than $100 billion in ad sales and partnered with organizations like Apple, Snapchat, BuzzFeed, Twitter, and YouTube.

Regarding Yaccarino's hiring, Musk responded to his fans by saying: “The commitment to open source transparency and accepting a wide range of viewpoints remains unchanged.”

Musk questioned his millions of followers on Twitter last year: “Should I resign as CEO of Twitter?”

He had written, “I will abide by the results of this poll.”

More than 17 million people participated in the survey, and 57.5% of them demanded that he resign.

Musk did not, however, resign.
